TL;DR; - The Q Shorty stock comes with a standard buffer, and will need to be replaced with a heavier buffer to run reliably in full-auto. MAXIM Defense saved the day.
Building on a KAK receiver set, which comes with an M-16 full-auto cut, is a great option for those on a limited budget and limited tools. The Q Shorty stock is expensive, and should come with an option for a heavier buffer from the factory. That said, I like the stonk. It deploys quickly, though not at the press of a button like the Honey Badger. The 8.3" Ballistic Advantage barrel makes this a handy package for home defense or truck gun.
Reliability was lacking in full-auto with the stock buffer from Q--suffering from bolt bounce. It did perform fine in semi with the stock setup. I ended up going with the H3 buffer from Maxim Defense, as opposed to something more Gucci like the JP Silent Spring. Their roller-delayed option looks interesting as well, so may have to try that soon.
The Dead Air Sandman L adds some weight to this package but sounds excellent with subsonic ammunition.
For select-fire conversions, I can't recommend the KAK parts kits enough. It went in easily and haven't had any problems with hundreds of rounds so far.
